Containing this, kombucha drinks are becoming more and more popular. But some people still don’t know what kombucha is. Actually, this drink has been around for a long time, originating from China over 2000 years and spreading to other countries.
Kombucha is ‘fermented tea’ or ‘enzymatic water’ that is naturally fermented. It consists of two main parts of the production process: 1) the good breeding microorganism part Also known as ‘SCOBY’ (a Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast) and 2) tea mix.
Tea Ingredients: Use only 4 parts tea, either black tea or green tea. (Strain out the tea leaves) Boil with 1 part sugar and set aside to cool. Then put the SCOBY cubes from the first portion into the tea-infused jar. Do not close the lid tightly. May use some white cloth to cover the lid. Marinate in the shade for at least 7-21 days before you can start drinking. When it’s almost gone, just boil some new tea. Then add the leavening agent and a little more tea from the original jar, it can continue to ferment.
